Way less than impressed. Nearly an hour to get food. Less than friendly wait staff (is that where Grumpys gets it's name?) Ordered a club sandwich with tots and recieved a BLT with fries and was told they were out of turkey. Sent it back, waited even longer. Won't go back.

I love coming to Grumpys. You always feel like family, everything is home baked and the staff is always friendly. The prices are great and the food is great. I love coming here. Will always always come back

Ate here one morning after a wonderful stay in town, and the lady had no time for my wife and I. She basically ignored us the entire time and seemed very "Grumpy"! Too bad, cuz I wouldn't waste my money there again, and we are heading that way soon, will definitely try another option.

Good comfort food, good service but do be patient as they are figuring out the Covid/best practice and doing a fine job of it.

Good Basic Food at a responsible price.

Grumpy's has an extensive menu and moderate pricing. Serves breakfast any time. Seating area is small but space is well used. Service was friendly and relaxed so you may have to wait a bit but the quality of the food is very good to excellent and the beach is the perfect place to relax. Grumpy is the owner's nickname but seems like a great guy.

The place is clean and neat. Staff is pleasant and friendly. The home-style potatoes had no flavor from any seasoning, but had good texture. Eggs over medium were perfect. Scrambled eggs were a plain omelette folded and chopped. Sausage patties were delicious, as were the sausage links though the links had some image issues. Pancakes are HUGE! And very delicious. Five stars.

Always a good home cooked breakfast. The breakfast sandwich doesn't skimp on the bacon. Nice tick good cut. Tasty.

Kind, friendly, and attentive service from staff. Large portions at reasonable prices. Food is delicious. Plain pancakes at other places are usually bland/flavorless, these are good just as is. Same with the French toast, they don't even need syrup as they are sweet with flavor off the skillet.Will definitely come back around.

Yes the pancakes are huge but food is not good. FOOD BAD & SERVICE BAD. My potatoes were raw, hard as rocks & bacon raw. Waitress never came by to ask how everything was. I only got 1 cup of coffee no refill. I finally got waitress' attention, she ignored me & walked over to neighboring table to take order. I got busboy attention for help. The cook DID NOT re-do my order just took old food & dropped in fryer. My original egg was cold & rubbery, the potatoes were just BARELY cooked (the 2nd time) & bacon was extra greasy & rubbery. DISGUSTING! I can cook a better meal at home for less $$.

Went to this gem on July 4th, and glad we found it while visiting the area. The owner waited on us and talked to us for a bit and it was like talking to family. The food was fantastic, awesome coleslaw, fish and blt’s! In conversation it came out that it was my husband’s birthday and he left with a free Grumpy’s coffee mug. That was so very kind of them. We will make sure to stop back in here on our next visit.

The place is named after their employees but great portions of solid food for good prices.

I had two pancakes for breakfast. I have never ever had such a big breakfast. Amazing food.

The worst lunch I have had in decades. Such slow service we should have walked out before ordering - we had enough time.The burger bun was rock hard and inedible. The fries were so fried they were rock hard and inedible , plus cold. The veggie burger was deep fried, but cold when I got it, so the grease taste was disgusting.I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Okay food, not the best not the worst Cute little ocean side breakfast place with awkward staff but adequate.Filled me up but didnt stand out just a morning breakfast place.Close to the ocean and comfortable atmosphere

Nice and quiet. Very friendly staff. Excellent food and reasonably priced. $8 hasn't filled me up this much in a long time. I'm sad to report that I was unable to finish my hash browns, lest enter a food induced coma.I recommend #7, with sausage patty. Delicious.

Did not see sign that they closed at 2pm. No one said hello or can I help you. Stood there for a couple of minutes. On my way out I saw the 2pm. It was 1:34.

“Grumpy” is an understatement! We went in with 8 people and there was plenty of room. However, they seemed put out from the beginning. Never got asked once throughout our stay if we needed anything (refills, creamer for coffee, etc) or if everything was ok. But of course as we checked out after (maybe 30 min. stay) we received our bill with an 18% gratuity. We never saw even one smile from any of the employees. There would have been NO WAY we would’ve tipped $18.00. Let’s just say vacationing or any other time we have never been treated so poorly! Good luck if you try it out for yourself👎

The $4 muffin/egg/bacon or sausage breakfast sandwich is good! The attitude of the staff is fun and lives up to their name. Decent coffee. Enjoyed it.

Never been in this town before and me and my boyfriend decided why not try something new, and WOW DELICIOUS AND GREAT EMPLOYEES 😋🤩 definitely coming back soon! Highly recommend for new tourists!

Go for the cookies and baked goods and tomato soup...they are really good. Food is not great, basic, but underwhelming. Make sure you check your bill....convenient mistakes in addition.

Classic Diner. Great view of the Steam Train across the street. If you are driving thru pick up a coffee cup souvenir. Can't go wrong with a "Grumpy" coffee cup.

Food here tastes amazing! Great service and large portions for the price. 100% would recommend! I had breakfast there with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes and I loved it.

Got the #2. It was a good sized breakfast for me. Wife got the Guppy #1 which was enough food for her. Service was great! Waitress always checked in on us. Coffee was nice and hot. We were unsure as to where to pay so we left the bill with tip on the table.

Cozy, mom and pop type of feel. Food was great, lots of deserts, and friendly staff. Place is a little old and dingy.

Service is great. Our server, Mary, was cheery and super friendly. Plenty of good food and coffee is perfectly hot. Be warned, the pancakes are bigger than the plate.

Ordered in food to go as online says dining is closed. (Covid) someone should update it because dining is open. However so glad we got it to go went and ate it on the table at rockaway beach which was amazing! The pancakes are enormous! The bacon is the thick amazing delicious kind. The biscuits and gravey was killer.

Its a cute little place that appears to be family owned. It could use a little more attention to detail - like the sugar shaker that was a little crusty and hard to extract sugar from because it was crusty. The french toast was awesome as was the sausage and eggs. They have fun little treats as well. They do not serve traditional hashbrowns so don't order those. The potatoes we did get were not at all seasoned and they charged us for them and the gravy we didn't eat (because we ordered hashbrowns) other than that is was awesome.

Good size portions of food but unfortunately my plate had dried and old potatoes 🤨

had the #5 and it was not up to par, it came cold and my potatoes tasted old, also a lot of yelling from employees and looked like someone who works there was paying their bills in an open booth.

Huge portions, good food, charmingly sarcastic decor, well heated, nice staff. We were here on mother's day so we waited a long time but that's what you expect on holidays. They even brought my mom flowers.All together we got a dried strawberry cinnamon roll, truly enormous pancakes and eggs and sausage and an omelette and hash browns. Everyone ate what they wanted and left food on their plates.

Bacon overcooked! So hard and crispy, had no flavor! Cubed Potatoes tasted rancid and were cooked so crispy, the skin was chewy. Could not even finish eating food. Older waitress lady was rude and the cook appeared young, obviously not much experience in the kitchen. Had high hopes due to other reviews, but would not return.

AWESOME food. Lots of choices. Super great low prices, for very filling dishes. The guys were great and kept checking on us, too. Super cute little place. Loved it!

We waited for a table even though several were empty. Nobody ever came to take our food order once we were seated. Three other groups that came in after us had their orders taken. We finally got up and went to a different cafe. We met another couple who had the same thing happen to them. We won't return to Grumpy's.

Awesome small little joint, got lucky and hit them before the line started, hence the name the lady was a little grumpy, but expected at a place called grumpy cafe! Service was speedy for how busy they were, and the food was well worth the wait, which is nice because it allows you to get all your chatting done before you eat, and then if you're a cool human, can eat a super good meal, and leave quickly to allow the line to keep flowing smoothly. Will return again!

I absolutely love the food! The staff is friendly. Affordable to eat there. I can't wait until they open up dinner service again. Niki is awesome!

My husband and I were delighted by this little gem. The biscuits and gravy were amazing. They obviously make things from scratch. The turnovers were flaky and we look forward to taking some back home for our family. The pricing is absolutely phenomenal for the quality of food. Nice service. Highly recommended.

Not bad, decent food and prices, but I smelled like deep fryer oil after leaving. But that's never stopped me before.

Food was great. The waitress must be the restaurant's namesake. If my husband hadn't been so hungry we would have left after our first interaction with her. I suppose she doesn't have to be nice since we are tourists and never coming back to the area. 🤷‍♀️

Amazing place! A good value, too. Enjoyed the people that work there. HUGE pancakes! I ate here every morning of our vacation.

Amazing service, excellent food, family friendly. The clam chowder bread bowl is delicious!!!
